Bed and Breakfast - Le vieux moulin de Jouques

Between the Luberon and mount Sainte Victoire, Jouques: from the sky down to the meadow, an architectural treasure.

Jouques is a traditionally rural town, captivating at first sight. You can explore the medieval village little by little at your own pace, strolling through the old streets, adorned with flowers, rich in historical and cultural heritage, accessible to all.

Discover this ancestral land which has made Jouques a village dedicated to the preservation of its Provençal heritage: vineyards, lavender distillery, olive oil mill, apiculture, groves of almond and olive trees, and fields of lavender and aromatic plants.  Bees gathering nectar, butterflies fluttering about, birds singing…

For the sports-minded: hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding, cross-country (GR9) hiking, various other sports activities, including hunting and fishing, near lake Plantain in Peyrolles…  All kinds of activities and festivities. Exhibitions and a museum for those with a thirst for culture…  Thus you will find in Jouques a peaceful haven where culture blends with nature.

Just a few kilometres away, Vauvenargues is a must to visit.  Those who love the  work of the Spanish artist Picasso can visit the chateau where he lived and painted.

There you will discover the intimate surroundings of this painter who resided there from January 1959 till June 1961, and where he is buried alongside his last wife, Jacqueline.

You can visit his studio, left unchanged, and see his large palette, his painting materials and the spotlights which enabled him to paint at night.  Indeed the chateau is exactly as it was when Picasso left it.
